Guy Salamon

Guy Salamon is an award winning jazz drummer, composer, arranger, recording
artist and band leader, based in Amsterdam. Known for his idiosyncratic view of jazz and humorous, melancholic music, Guy made a strong impression on audiences and critics nationwide with his 'Guy Salamon Group', as well as an established collaborator in various projects within the European jazz scene.

Guy grew up in a musical home, his mother a classical choral conductor and his father a salsa-rock singer. He started playing the piano when he was eight years old, moving to the drums at age thirteen. After finishing his studies at the local art high school and later at the Amsterdam Conservatory, he began performing regularly on major stages, often representing the Netherlands on international events such as the North Sea Jazz Festival and JazzAhead.
