Max Agnas - piano
"The piano has always been a kind of raw energy source for me—a space where I can connect with myself through a language that is undefinable, free from logic, and constantly changing from day to day, yet still completely understandable every time. This recording started out pretty badly, with personal setbacks and technical issues involving microphones and cables making strange noises. A lot of time and energy was spent solving these problems. My idea of what this album was supposed to be was challenged from the very beginning. This created a lot of frustration, leading me to just improvise for three hours instead of playing the songs I had prepared.During the entire recording, a blackbird sat outside the window singing constantly for hours with only short breaks. I envied its patience and felt like it didn’t really care about the outcome of its singing. This inspired me, and I think it naturally led me to abandon the original goals for the album. I felt a deep need to simply interact with the piano and listen to it. And that is what I tried to do."
